INSIGHTS INTO A TECHNOLOGY ON ITS WAY OF NORMALIZATION
The result of a collaboration between the Robert Badinter Institute and the University of Strasbourg, this public conference organized in early 2025 marks the first step in a series of meetings aimed at “decoding AI,” the proceedings of which will be published in several volumes. This first volume, intended for a wide audience of practitioners, researchers, and students, examines the challenges of the widespread use of digital technologies known as “artificial intelligence” in its technical, social, and legal dimensions through: a review of some basic technical concepts, a review of the political and societal challenges of AI at the beginning of 2025, and an up-to-date and practical overview of the use of AI in the legal and judicial professions.
Based on the interdisciplinary discussions that took place during the day, these proceedings share some of the insights that are essential to the development of a common language of AI among lawyers, computer scientists, philosophers, sociologists, and political scientists.
